Hippo Playgrounds

The Hutto ISD Board of Trustees approved on Thursday several upgrades to recess and playground areas across each of the District’s seven elementary school campuses. In addition to the new artificial turf, a new playground will be installed at Nadine Johnson Elementary School (NJES). The playground was designed through feedback from current NJES students and includes age appropriate elements along with inclusive access.

Understanding the profound impact of untreated mental health conditions, Hutto ISD takes an innovative step forward by partnering with Care Solace, a social purpose organization, to make access to mental health care easier than ever before. This transformative collaboration prioritizes mental and physical well-being for the entire Hippo Nation community and provides easy access to a comprehensive network of providers and resources.

TAEA 5 year award

The Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) announced the 94 winners of the 2024 District of Distinction Award. Among the list of honorees was Hutto ISD. This marks the fifth time the district has received the recognition. Districts received the honor for providing a well-rounded education that advocates and integrates visual arts curriculum to inspire creativity and builds social emotional learning that connects learners to their community and beyond.

High School No. 2 Render

Hutto’s second high school is closer to becoming a reality after Trustees approved its schematic design following a months-long effort to define the campus’s academic offerings as well as Hutto ISD stakeholders’ expectations for a new facility that emphasizes student choice, collaboration and a strong sense of belonging.
